Brand Identity & Print Design

About

After creating Thistle House, the client approached us to expand with a unique speakeasy whiskey bar next door. We named it The Blind Finch, inspired by the historical “Blind Pig” and “Blind Tiger,” replacing the animals with a Goldfinch—a bird that eats thistles, tying it back to the original Thistle House.

The concept centers on the blind finch as a protector of secrets, embodying the mysterious and hidden nature of a speakeasy. The finch “turns a blind eye” to the revelry inside while keeping order. We worked with Abel Design Group to translate the brand into the physical space, using experiential design, coasters, and menus to reinforce the narrative. The design transports guests to a different time, creating a sense of security and exclusivity in a private, hidden refuge.
